    All,

Is it possible to configure the Tomcat Agent installer to not modify the web.xml file in all the currently deployed war files inside the target Tomcat instance? We’re currently using v3.5.0 of the agent targeting a Tomcat 8 installation. The documentation actually implies that no automatic modifications take place as far as I can tell or at least it documents how to manually update the web.xml files. Is there some undocumented parameter to disable this behaviour? Note that I’m using a response file for automated installation.

    Thanks!

When you use agentadmin --customInstall you get the option that the agent filter is not deployed in global web.xml, actually I filed OPENAM-2726.

    Thanks for the response.

In fact I have been using the --custom-install option with the INSTALL_GLOBAL_WEB_XML=false setting in my response file. I don’t see it modifying the global web.xml in $TOMCAT_HOME/conf but rather the web.xml of individual web applications in $TOMCAT_HOME/webapps/<webapp>/WEB-INF.

How do I tell the installer not to mess with other web applications in my Tomcat installation?

    Regards,
    Corey

It doesn’t appear that what I’m asking for exists as an option in the installer today. I’ve opened OPENAM-6663 for this, in case anyone is interested.
