i need help to decide the best approach to customize the self service or the admin UI.
One of the requirements is, to enable a UI for a technical user.
This user should be more authorized then a normal user but less than a admin.
Now the question, is it easier to add more UI feature to a normal User?
Or would it be smarter to restrict some features of the Admin?
Maybe even a third approach? To provide a full custom UI with only using the REST interface of IDM.
Is there even a possibility to customize the UI this way?
Can you add a additional path in the URL structure?

Out of the box it’s not possible for these types of UI customization, you are either a user or admin.
Your third option might be the best approach: make your own UI with your own authorization framework based on IDM’s role and use REST call to IDM to do the appropriate operations.
Updating the OOTB UI means that you would have to re-do everything once you upgrade while using your own app will still works since REST calls should stay the same.December 7, 2017 at 8:50 am #19988prytonParticipant
@peter-major @shegergmail-com @rajeshr @bill-nelsonidentityfusion-com @ludo @sgagne This would not solve my problem because, IDM separates in its ui directory in admin ui and selfservice ui.
But i want a third custom ui, so i have to add a additional path in the UI.
The question is, would IDM accept this as a third path in the URL or is a change in the source JS files needed?
How can you add a third UI in IDM?
