I have a problem with replication when all server are down.
Step for this issue are:
– Start opendj in server1
– Start opendj in server2
– Enable and inizialize Replication between server1 and server2.
– Stop opendj in server1
– Stop opendj in server2
– When I try to Start opendj in server2 after this, I receive this ERROR
[17/Sep/2016:09:24:43 +0000] category=SYNC severity=ERROR msgID=org.opends.messages.replication.178 msg=Directory server 32445 was attempting to connect to replication server 30690 but has disconnected in handshake phase
– After when I try to add user I receive this error `An error occurred creating new entry.Details:
javax.naming.OperationNotSupportedException: [LDAP: error code 53 - The Replication is configured for suffix dc=example,dc=org but was not able to connect to any Replication Server]; remaining name 'cn=test,dc=example,dc=org'
Can anyone help me??
Thanks in advance

First I think the Subject is misleading. If all servers are down, then there’s no service, nor directory nor replication.
Your problem has 2 parts.
The first one is that when the server 2 restarts, it fails to connect to a replication service. Unfortunately, without the complete configuration of both servers and the detailed command that you’ve run to configure the servers, we cannot understand what is wrong. The only thing that this message says is that the directory service was trying to establish a connection to a replication service and the SSL handshake failed.
The second part is that updates to the directory server are rejected. This is expected. If a directory server is not able to find any replication service, it will reject all updates (since there are no way to log the changes and have them replicated to other servers.
Which version of OpenDJ are you using ?September 19, 2016 at 10:18 am #13076sixartParticipant
I use Opendj 3.0.0-1.
With this “without the complete configuration of both servers and the detailed command that you’ve run to configure the servers, we cannot understand what is wrong” you want the replication configuration???

Replication refers to server using serverIDs which are generated when enabling replication, but are not exposed otherwise. These IDs are stored under cn=config / config.ldif. So that’s what I need to understand which ID refer to which server (and also what’s the configuration of these servers).
