    Respected Experts,

I am looking at Session Failover docs to understand OpenAM/OpenDJ’s clustering architecture.

From the Figure 8.1, my understanding is that I will have to set up an OpenDJ server corresponding to each OpenAM server that I have in the cluster. Or in other words the OpenAM-OpenDJ servers would alway exist in pairs.

Is this understanding correct? Alternatively, can we set up a cluster of OpenDJ servers and my OpenAM servers point to the common ‘access point’ of the cluster rather than to individual OpenDJ servers. (When I say common ‘access point’, I mean a set up where we have cluster of web/app servers accessed via the URL of load balancer.

    Thanks and Regards

    Hi Manchanda,

No, you don’t need to have a pair of OpenAM/OpenDJ for session failover (CTS configuration).

I prefer to have a OpenDJ cluster with a LB software balancing income request, and OpenAM CTS configuration pointing out to LB.
