ParticipantRespected OpenAM Experts,
Wanted to confirm if OpenAM’s latest version (12.0.0) requires or uses Berkeley DB. There is reference of Berkeley DB in OpenAM’s 10.0.0 docs. It uses Berkeley for Session fail over. However, the Same Session fail over Chapter of v12.0.0 doesn’t mentions its use.
So, wanted to make sure if OpenAM 12.0.0 uses Berkeley DB.
Thanks

ParticipantNo longer using Open Message Queue and Berkeley DB Java Edition, starting OpenAM 12. OpenDJ is now used for session failover.

ModeratorThe embedded OpenDJ in OpenAM 12.0.0 version is still utilizing the Berkeley DB (je.jar), but if everything goes well 13 will be shipped with an OpenDJ that is using PDB instead. For session failover purposes OpenAM isn’t using BDB since 10.1.0-Xpress (11.0.0).

ParticipantThanks Peter,
If I use external OpenDJ with OpenAM, will the Berkeley DB still be used. In other words does OpenDJ uses Berkeley DB.
Thanks

ParticipantFound Two articles that mention the use of Berkeley DB by OpenDJ
First one is from idmdude written in 2012, while second one is from ForgeRock.
Can we confirm this is valid for the latest version of OpenDJ.
Thanks and Regards

ParticipantYou might want to post your OpenDJ question to the OpenDJ forum. You’ll probably get a quicker response.
