My application needs to put a couple of attributes to groups.
How can configure openam so that my customers can set the group attributes using the web console?
if it is possible in version 12.x, does the feature in openam roadmap?

I don’t believe the UI offers any capabilities to set arbitrary attributes on group entries, but the REST API should allow to perform such changes.
As always: don’t use OpenAM for identity management.

    thanks for the reply.
if OpenAM is not good for identity management. which tool should I use, OpenIDM?
is it able to configure group attributes?

OpenIDM is one choice, but just as well you could use tools/libraries that interact with your data stores directly, e.g. OpenDJ LDAP SDK to perform LDAP operations, or leverage the REST API exposed by the OpenDJ servers.
OpenAM abstracts away from the underlying technology and it represents “identities” instead of plain LDAP entries to work with, which makes identity management more difficult and less desirable with OpenAM.

    thanks for the reply.

Right now we use OpenAM web console to configure A&A for our product suite.
This OpenAM web limitation would force us to develope a separate web tool to configure A&A for one of our applications – which costs money to develop and force our customers to learn yet another web tool.

Will OpenAM support this feature in its roadmap?

The product itself already supports setting arbitrary group attributes through its APIs, it is just not exposed through any UI at the moment.
I can’t tell if anything like this is on the roadmap, it is certainly not a commonly requested feature.
